The Council of Ministers says EU legislation about rough diamonds, firearms and drug precursors is still the best way for the Island to meet international standards.
A report about European laws still in effect after Brexit is due to be considered by Tynwald when the court sits later this month.
The document says hundreds of pieces of EU legislation remain in place because removing them would leave gaps in Manx law.
It says agriculture and food legislation alone accounts for 320 pieces of EU law which still apply 10 years after the Brexit referendum.
