The Fire Service is warning people not to leave cooking unattended, following a kitchen fire in Douglas.
Crews attended the incident on Wednesday and stayed there for around 40 minutes due to smoke logging of the property.
As more than half of all house fires start in the kitchen, people are asked to keep loose clothing and tea towels away from flames and to double check the hob and cooker have been turned off when not in use.
It's also suggested to clean your oven and grill frequently and avoid using chip pans.
