An investigation into the rising costs of the island's new ferry terminal in Liverpool has been requested by Tynwald.
It comes after the price tag for the Princes Half Tide Dock almost doubled- increasing from £38m, to £70.6m.
The extra spend was given the green light by Manx politicians yesterday (Tuesday) despite the handling of project being called a "disaster" and a "public embarrassment".
Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall said £44m would be lost if the scheme was abandoned.
Politicians requested more scrutiny of the project, with Middle MHK Stu Peters saying the public might gain some comfort if "heads were put on spikes".
