The trial of electric buses aims to improve understanding of the costs in changing to a more environmentally friendly fleet.
That's according to the government, which says it will also test their suitability to the Island and its terrain and public transport needs.
A Mercedes Benz eCitaro and double deck Electroliner are currently in use across the Island for the TT period.
It comes as early steps are being taken as the transport industry moves away from manufacturing vehicles powered by fossil fuels.
