The team behind the recently established Silver Line are urging elderly people to utilise their helpline this Christmas.
Silver Line is the brainchild of TV personality and charity worker Esther Rantzen and is a 24-hour freephone service for older people who may live alone.The phone lines will be manned throughout the holiday season.
Since launching at the beginning of the month the service has had a strong uptake - however the team behind the helpline feel there are a number of people still falling through the net.
Douglas Stewart from Silver Line says they will be reaching out particularly to those who may be feeling lonely at this time of year:
