A pensioner who knocked down a pedestrian at a zebra crossing at B&Q has been fined £650 and given a six-month driving ban.
80-year-old Edward John McDermott of Ballacriy Park in Colby, admitted careless driving, saying that he had accidentally put his foot on the accelerator instead of the brake.
The complainant is said to have suffered a shoulder injury as a result of the accident on March 12.
Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood also ordered McDermott to take an extended driving test at the end of his ban.
