Efforts to increase the amount of Manx language speakers were reaffirmed at a meeting of the British-Irish Council last month.
Douglas South MHK Claire Christian represented the Island at the conference, which focused on indigenous, minority and lesser-used languages.
Mrs Christian cited the Manx Language Strategy, which aims to increase speakers from around 2,000 to 5,000 by 2032.
She commented that since the launch of the strategy, the focus has been on training, advocacy, and nurturing a vibrant community of Manx speakers.
