Education should stop being targeted, says MHK

The Leader of the Liberal Vannin Party says government needs to stop targeting education and focus on more important issues.

Peter Karran says it’s an area, along with the health service, that shouldn't be touched. 

It follows the Department of Education and Children’s decision to try and introduce regulation which would see students paying their own tuition fees. 

This will be voted on in Tynwald in January – although Mr Karran has said he, and his colleague Kate Beecroft, will not be voting in favour. 

Mr Karran says government should look elsewhere to make savings:
