Pre-school fees, eating out, and alcohol all saw price increases in May according to the latest inflation figures.
As of last month, it stood at 2.7 per cent with a rise of 0.5 per cent from April.
Education saw the biggest increase, rising by 6.5 per cent, with pre-school fees surging by 12.7 per cent.
Restaurants and hotels were the second biggest, rising by 5.9 per cent and the third largest increase was alcohol and tobacco with a 5.6 per cent rise.
