Passengers have reported being unable to get off this afternoon's easyJet flight from Liverpool because of winds, resulting in it being flown back to Merseyside.
Travelers were told it was too windy to safely bring the steps out to the plane at the Isle of Man Airport, so they couldn't disembark.
The 3.10pm flight to Ronaldsway is listed as having been cancelled and returned to the gate at Liverpool, with easyJet stating on its website: 'This is because strong winds in Isle of Man are preventing aircraft from arriving and departing'.
Forecasters had been predicting strong to gale force winds for today, Sunday, December 14.
A yellow weather warning for heavy rain is also in place until 3am on Monday, December 15.
