A drunken mum-to-be from Douglas who struggled with police has avoided an immediate jail sentence.
Stacey Ann Robina Ashton of Hillside Avenue admitted provoking behaviour and assaulting a police officer when she appeared at Douglas Courthouse.
Magistrates heard Ashton, who’s expecting a baby later this month, was drunk on January 16 when she shouted and swore at police officers speaking to a resident in a flat on Woodbourne Square.
After the 38 year old was arrested, she kicked an officer in the leg as she was being taken to cells at police headquarters.
Magistrates jailed her for 16 weeks for each charge concurrently, suspended for 12 months.
She was also ordered to pay £50 costs and £100 compensation to the officer she kicked.
