Emily Caine of Greenlands Avenue in Ramsey admitted the offence when she appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughe s at Douglas Courthouse.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing Caine was spotted by police driving her VW Polo into the drive-through at McDonalds on Peel Road in Douglas at around 4.30am on Saturday, December 21.
Staff were concerned she’d been drinking and officers took her into custody when she failed a roadside breath test – later turning out to be more than twice the legal limit.
Mrs Hughes told the 18 year old she accepted she was remorseful, but added people can’t ignore the annual road safety campaign about drink-driving or the potential consequences of their actions.
Caine was fined £1,200, ordered to pay £125 costs and banned from the roads for three years until she passes an extended test and a rehabilitation course.
