A motorist has had a lucky escape following a crash on the Mountain Road this morning.
Authorities were called to the one-vehicle incident earlier saying the driver was uninjured and has now been taken home by officers.
The constabulary adds the mountain route 'makes no allowances for driver error' in bad weather and people should remember that no matter how many times they use the highway.
The stretch has now re-opened but Police commented driving conditions are still particularly poor.
