A driver involved in a head-on crash on New Year’s Day was almost three times over the legal limit, a court’s heard.
Kevin Paul Murphy of Hillside Terrace in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted drink-driving, disorderly behaviour on licensed premises, resisting police and being drunk and disorderly.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing the 29 year old drunkenly struggled with police and had to be sprayed with incapacitant during his arrest outside the Swan pub in Ramsey on December 19 last year.
On January 1, Murphy is said to have been three times the legal limit when he was involved in a head-on crash on Douglas Road in Ballasalla.
And on April 19 he was again arrested after he was asked to leave a pub on North Quay in Douglas - the court heard he wrestled a friend who was trying to lead him away from police and take him home.
Magistrates bailed him in the sum of £500 and he’s next due to appear in court on May 25.
