Island Police are urging people to leave unroadworthy cars at home.
The warning comes after officers seized an unsafe car last night that had a broken accelerator cable.
Police say the driver had put the cable through the open driver's window and pulled on it by hand as a 'means of propulsion.'
After driving like this from Douglas to Peel, they were spotted by the Roads Policing Unit and had their vehicle seized for being in a dangerous condition.
