A doctor from Kirk Michael has been banned from the road for two years after being caught drink driving.
64-year-old Peter George Lillywhite, of Upper Sartfell, admitted the offence at Douglas Courthouse on Tuesday.
Police arrested Lillywhite on November 4th last year after concerns were raised about the standard of his driving on the Coast Road.
They located his Aston Martin at his home address just after 6.30pm - he was taken to Police Headquarters where he admitted consuming two pints of bitter and a glass of wine.
Lillywhite's advocate told the court: "He's embarrassed and ashamed - the lesson has well and truly been learnt."
Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes also fined the doctor £900 and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £125 telling him drink driving was a 'high price for anyone to pay'.
