A woman driver who told police she'd had a glass of wine turned out to be almost two and a half times over the limit.
Zoe Elizabeth Brindley of Larrivane Close in Andreas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 59-year-old admitted drink-driving her BMW X1 in Andreas on February 18.
Prosecutor Rachael Braidwood told the hearing she was stopped on Ballasteen Road at 5pm after officers watched her weaving across the road, and she was arrested after police noticed her speech was slurred.
She was unable to complete breath tests, but blood samples later showed she was over the legal alcohol limit.
She was fined £1,700 and ordered to pay costs of £50.
Magistrates also banned her from driving for three years.
