A drink driver has been banned from the road after he was spotted hitting another vehicle while parking.
24-year- old Josh Ian Rosenthall, of Barrule Road, bumped his BMW just before 2.30am on July 9.
Officers were on mobile patrol on Snaefell Road in Willaston at the time - when they spoke to him he smelt strongly of alcohol and his eyes were glazed.
Rosenthall failed a roadside breath test and was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters - further tests there showed he was almost twice the legal limit.
At Douglas Courthouse this week he pleaded guilty to drink driving.
His advocate told the court Rosenthal had consumed two drinks the previous evening and had decided to give a friend a lift adding, "He thought he was OK - unfortunately not".
Fining him £900, and ordering him to pay court costs of £125, Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told him "It was a foolish and unnecessary offence".
Rosenthall was also disqualified from driving for two years and until he's taken and passed an extended driving test.
