A new Clerk of Tynwald is set to be appointed later this year.
Dr Jonathan King has been nominated to take up the position from September 24 and will replace Roger Phillips who'll be retiring after serving in the role since 2008.
Speaking about the move, Dr King says: "It is a great honour to serve in Tynwald and a still greater honour to have been nominated for the post of Clerk of Tynwald. I am very much looking forward to serving Tynwald and the public in this new role."
His nomination is now subject to approval from Tynwald and the House of Keys.
