Island scientist Dr Rachel Glover is among those expected to make up an official group which will give external advice to politicians in emergency situations.
Tynwald agreed to the creation of the Emergency Advisory Group earlier this year, which will be made up of professionals from different specialities to give a 'fresh perspective' and provide recommendations to the Council of Ministers.
At this months sitting of Tynwald - which gets underway today - Minister for Justice and Home Affairs, Graham Cregeen MHK, will move for members of the group to be appointed.
In total, eight individuals would take up positions on the panel which would also include Professor Peter Edge, Jacqueline Bridson and Jonathan Wild.
