Manx Utilities chair John Wannenburgh says there have been dozens of complaints about Peel smelling of drains and sewers since 2017.
He faced a question for written reply from Glenfaba and Peel member Kate Lord-Brennan about problems on estates to the north of the town.
Mr Wannenburgh said in total, 26 complaints had been received in the past eight years about the foul stench.
And he added Manx Utilities told people to contact the company that owns the sewer infrastructure.
