Douglas woman denies attacking husband

A woman's denied attacking her husband with a rolling pin in an argument about kitchen spices.

Anne Marie McHugh of Lheannag Park in Douglas appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Christopher Arrowsmith at Douglas Courthouse.

She pleaded not guilty to assaulting her husband at their family home on May 9.

Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the court Mrs McHugh is alleged to have hit out twice with a rolling pin, causing injuries to her victim's lower back.

Mr Arrowsmith bailed the 64 year old to an address in Homefield Close in Willaston in the sum of £500 on condition she doesn't contact her alleged victim, doesn't enter the family home except in the company of a police officer to collect belongings, and doesn't leave the Isle of Man without permission from the court.

She's due to appear in court again on July 7 at a pre-trial review hearing.
