A student who felt a barmaid’s breasts will be sentenced in March.
Joshua Thomas Mills of Hilltop View in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to indecent assault, while a further charge of indecent exposure was withdrawn.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the hearing on August 21 last year, Mills had been drinking with friends in the Highwayman pub in Peel for almost six hours.
The court heard he’d been trying to chat up a barmaid, and went behind the bar when he knocked over beer mats – invading her personal space and touching her breasts with the palms of his hands.
Mr Swain said the woman had tried to put a brave face on in front of other customers but reported the matter to police.
Mills, who’s studying in Liverpool, was bailed in the sum of £500 on condition he doesn’t enter the pub again or try to contact his victim.
He’s next due to appear in court on March 22.
