Douglas Lifeboat assists run aground yacht

At approximately 7.25pm crews were called to assist two people whose yacht had run aground off the north end of Douglas Beach.

 

The yacht was already afloat when the lifeboat arrived but a brisk onshore wind and incoming tide had outpowered the mechanics.

 

Sir William Hillary successfully towed the yacht to Douglas Harbour where the yacht's crew were able to start up the engine.
