All kerbside recycling collections in Douglas have now been suspended.
Douglas Borough Council says it's because the initiative doesn't meet the government advice for social distancing and is not classed as an essential operation.
However the Civic Amenity Site in the Island capital is still allowing recycling material to be dropped off with details of opening times available on the authority website.
Officials are reminding people a queuing system is in force there to maintain social distancing which could lead to long delays and are urgent residents to consider whether travelling to their is essential.
