A GP surgery in the Island capital is moving to the site of a former practice.
Finch Hill GP Practice, currently on Kensington Road, will move into the premises of the former Promenade Medical Centre on Chester Street from April after taking on a significant number of patients from the centre which shut in June last year.
Principle GP at Finch Hill, Dr Helen Freer, says: "Having taken on almost 2000 extra patients we have simply run out of space. The consulting rooms at our new location will improve patient and staff comfort whilst carrying out examinations and minor surgical procedures.
"It will also ensure we can continue as a GP training practice whilst accommodating our valued healthcare colleagues who run antenatal clinics, phlebotomy and health visitor drop-in clinics."
Meanwhile, the Finch Hill practice is going to be repurposed into the Island's first Sexual Assault Referral Centre, with further details on that project to be announced soon.
Officials also want to hear what patients themselves think about the move and have launched an online survey where residents can give their feedback on the plans - a link to that is available here.
