A Douglas councillor, who sits on a committee charged with increasing recycling levels in the capital, has gone without single-use plastics for a month.
Andrew Bentley, who’s also the chairman of the Isle of Man Green Party, undertook the challenge throughout July, and says it was ‘suprisingly easy’.
It comes as the council is asking for public feedback on how to improve waste services, which include the eastern household recycling centre and kerbside collections.
Mr Bentley says the authority’s recycling levels are ‘very poor’ compared to other jurisdictions, and wants to encourage greater uptake amongst the public.
