Douglas Council is warning residents of a scam where people are impersonating council staff.
It's thought that locals have received phone calls from a UK number advising access is required to properties for maintenance reasons.
The Council has confirmed that these calls have not been arranged by them and the police are aware.
The public is asked to be vigilant if receiving calls that request access to properties or professional information.
