Douglas Borough Council will only collect one wheelie bin per property from this autumn.
Those with second bins will not be entitled to a double collection, and going forward, those requesting a second will be assessed on an individual basis.
Councillor Falk Horning explained since plans to introduce fortnightly collections were shared, some residents have been ‘panic-buying’ wheelie bins to increase their household waste capacity.
