Commissioners in Castletown say they're keen to see a street in the town centre reopen as soon as possible.
George Lane was shut by the Department of Infrastructure after dangerous ridge tiles on the George Hotel posed a public safety.
The local authority says it'll remain closed until safety works are finished, and says it hopes the work can be carried out quickly.
But in the meantime, the board is urging people not to ignore the barriers, which are there for public safety.
