Police have issued a scam warning over a gift card con.
Officers say they’ve had reports of people being asked to buy cards for colleagues by fraudsters who use email addresses that look similar to their boss.
But if you look carefully, the addresses are different – and a number of people have lost significant amounts of money after being caught out.
Police say you should double-check any such requests with your boss, using different way of contacting them, to make sure you don’t fall for it.
