The Department of Infrastructure says it won't reveal how much protective posts and a gate in Smeale cost to install.
A Freedom of Information request to the department asked how much the posts and gate had cost to buy and install.
The DOI says six posts and gate fixings cost £573 from the sawmill in St Johns.
But it says commercial confidentiality outweighs transparency concerns, and so it's won't reveal how much a contractor was paid to put them in.
