DOI won't publish bridge inspection report

The Department of Infrastructure says releasing a report about the state of a bridge in Laxey would prejudice the government's ability to manage the national economy.

A Freedom of information request asked about structural reports on the bridge on Church Hill near Laxey Woollen Mills.

In its response, the DOI said an inspection report from last July contained assessments of the bridge's condition, including defects, condition data and maintenance requirements.

But it said it wouldn't publish the report because doing so might cost it more in future when companies tendered for work.
