It's applied for planning permission for work on the iconic building, including fixing a leaky roof.
In its application, the department says more work will be carried out on the arrivals and departure corridor, as well as a new fire escape staircase.
The department also says it'll move a staircase enclosure and rearrange car parking spaces to avoid it.
