The Department of Infrastructure has U-turned over proposals to put aside land to expand Jurby Airfield.
The proposals, revealed in submissions to the draft Area Plan for the North and West, saw land around the airfield guarded in case it was needed for expansion in future.
But after high-profile criticism from local authorities and residents the department says it will withdraw the submission.
The department points out there are no plans to expand the airfield in Jurby.
