The Department of Infrastructure will try to protect services in the event of a bus strike, according to minister Michelle Haywood.
She faced questions about the possibility of industrial action during this week's House of Keys sitting.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Tim Glover asked her about the strike and what effects that might have.
Dr Haywood said there was no strike date yet and talks were continuing but her department had backup plans in the event of drivers walking out:
