The Department of Infrastructure says it's topped up its gritting supplies.
The DOI says it's had two deliveries from Northern Ireland, and 2,000 tones of salt has now been taken to its depot in Glen Duff, Lezayre.
On Facebook, the department says it keeps up to 11,000 tonnes of salt ready for use and needs to top up its stock every two or three years.
And it adds if you can smell brown sugar near the quay in Ramsey it's because the salt is combined with molasses to make sure it stays on roads.
