The Department of Infrastructure is considering restricting the parking of larger vehicles in residential areas.
Highway Services has written to local authorities to get their feedback on the proposed regulations, which will be discussed in Tynwald later in the year.
The department suggests that vehicles over 1.87 metres high or 5.5 metres long should be excluded from parking in certain areas at weekends or overnight.
These restrictions would apply to all speed regulated roads, and anyone found to be in breach would be issued a parking ticket.
Local authorities are also asked to identify any areas they don't want to be covered by the restrictions.
