From next month, phased work will take place to resurface Victoria Street in Douglas.
The Department of Infrastructure has issued an update on night time and evening closures, as well as diversions that will be in place.
From April 19 to 26, the road will be closed from 6:30pm to 6:30am from the junction of John Street to the new crossing.
While this closure is in place, the following diversions will be in use:
• All vehicular traffic coming down Prospect Hill (including scheduled buses) will be diverted along Athol Street
• Traffic using Ridgeway Street will exit via Prospect Hill only
• Traffic from John Street (Market Street & Drumgold Street/M&S car park) will be diverted towards Prospect Hill
• There will be no access to Victoria Street from Thomas street
Ridgeway Street to John Street will then have the same overnight closure from April 26 to May 3.
During this work, the following diversion are in place:
• All vehicular traffic coming down Prospect Hill (including scheduled buses) will be diverted along Athol Street
• Traffic using Ridgeway Street will exit via Prospect Hill only
• Traffic from John Street (Market Street & Drumgold Street/M&S car park) will travel in the usual direction down Victoria Street
• There will be no access to Victoria Street from Thomas street
During these two phases, the road will remain open during the day, with traffic flowing normally.
