A Noble’s Hospital doctor who tried to have cannabis mailed to him will be sentenced next month.
27 year old Dr Haroon Rizwan Hamid appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted producing cannabis from the UK to the Isle of Man and attempting to possess the class B drug on September 27 last year.
The court heard Post Office staff alerted police to a suspicious parcel, and when it was opened they found a package wrapped in teabags.
Inside was just under 15 grammes of drugs with a street value of just over £85.
Magistrates bailed Hamid while reports are prepared, and he’ll appear again on May 23.
