You can still have your say- the Draft Area Plan for the North and West consultation has been extended.
The blueprint, which covers areas including Peel and Ramsey, aims to strike the right balance between protecting land and developing it.
It considers issues such as population growth and how much development is needed to meet housing needs into the future.
The latest plan also includes Andreas, Bride, Ballaugh, German, Garff, Jurby, Lezayre and Patrick.
It's thought a slow-down in the island's population growth may mean fewer housing developments will be needed so the results of this year's census will feed into the government plan.
The lack of affordable housing on the Isle of Man was one of the key issues in this year's general election.
The Manx government has pledged to bring derelict and vacant buildings back into use, as part of its vision for the future published in the Island Plan.
