Divers to carry out inspections on Ben-my-Chree this morning

An announcement will be made at 10.30am as to whether the Ben-my-Chree will be fit to sail today.

It follows an incident last night where the boat crashed into the King Edward Pier - causing damage to the vessel.

The Steam Packet Company says engineers have been working through the night to assess any damage and a diving inspection will be taking place over the next few hours.

The MV Arrow will be brought into Manx waters today to ensure the freight services can continue - the company is also working to bring the Manannan out of overhaul in case she's needed for passenger services.
