An Onchan man has been fined £1,000 after being caught driving whilst disqualified.
47-year-old Hiram Abrahams, of King Edward Road, had failed to take the extended driving test after a driving ban in 2015.
At Douglas Courthouse on Tuesday Abrahams admitted the offence - the court heard it was a requirement after his conviction three years ago.
Police arrested Abrahams on South Quay in Douglas on September 9th after officers spotted him driving a BMW.
Abrahams' advocate told the court: "This incident represents a blip - a fundamental misunderstanding on Mr Abrahams' behalf."
Passing sentence Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told Abrahams she'd treat it as a "genuine mistake".
She ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £125 and endorsed his driving licence with six penalty points.
