A disposable barbecue dumped in a wheelie bin sparked an alert at a Douglas beauty spot yesterday.
The Fire and Rescue Service says it happened on Marine Drive in Port Soderick.
Someone left the barbecue in a bin belonging to local charity Beach Buddies - the bin caught light and members of the public tackled the fire using water from a nearby stream.
Firefighters say disposable barbecues can stay dangerously hot long after use, and people should let them cool fully before disposing of them.
