Parking for the christmas period will be available on Douglas Promenade walkway from Thursday afternoon.
There will be a two-hour disc zone between the war memorial and the bottleneck car park until Sunday, January 6.
Spaces for disabled users is also available opposite Howard Street and Regent Street which will be a four-hour disc zone.
The Department of Infrastructure says it's to allow more space for shoppers during the festive season which in turn could benefit the local economy.
