At around 5pm on Friday of last week a man was assaulted in the garden of an address on Springfield Avenue, Pulrose.
The male had diesel thrown over him during the assault.
The victim attended hospital however it's been confirmed he suffered no serious injury.
A suspect was arrested nearby and is currently detained in Police custody.
Those involved were known to each other and there was no threat to the safety of the community.
Douglas Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
