An MHK wants to know if the Island’s economy benefited from the European Christmas market in Douglas Town Centre.
Peter Karran will raise the issue with the Economic
Development Minister John Shimmin in Tynwald today.
Market traders from both on and off island set up shop for seven days last month and although their stalls were a hit with the public, their presence wasn’t popular with some business owners.
Mr Karran wants to know how much money the market generated for the Manx exchequer, how many work permits were issued and whether it contravened by-laws.
