Dick Welsh MBE has been appointed the Island's Commissioner on the Northern Lighthouse Board.
The Board is responsible for the superintendence and management of all lights, buoys and beacons within those waters.
Mr Welsh received an MBE in the 2020 Honours List for outstanding services to the maritime community on the Isle of Man.
He will serve a three year term and is taking over from Mike Brew, who is retiring from the post at the end of May.
