The Department of Health and Social care hopes to save £300,000 a year by cutting down on the amount of unnecessary prescriptions.
A new campaign called 'If you don't need it, don't order it!' has been launched in the hopes of reducing the number of unused medicines, and the waste that comes with it.
It's estimated the plans could save the department approximately £300,00 a year - which the DHSC says could fund improvements within the health service.
