The decision to reopen the lower footpath at Dhoon Glen is being welcomed by Garff Commissioners.
The Department of Environment had planned to close it permanently due to rotting trees, but it will be back in use by Spring.
It was closed off in February with fencing blocking people from the path and a diverted trail was made.
The local authority has had confirmation works will be carried out over winter - something commissioner Marinda Fargher says is good news:
